Year 2 have been learning about the Australian artist Pro Hart.
We learnt that he was a sheep farmer and miner in the Australian outback who taught himself to paint.
From drawing and sketching to the famed landscapes and narrative paintings of his heyday, Pro was energised by all forms of creativity. He was a performance artist who experimented endlessly with new forms of expression, a sculptor who loved metal and stone and an inventor extraordinaire who loved tinkering in his back shed.
Pro Hart, for the older parents, is best remembered from the TV commercial where he’d spill food onto a rug to create the picture of a dragonfly.

A beautiful litugy on Friday afternoon celebrating the feast day of Blessed Mary of the Cross MacKillop and prayers for peace in Gaza. The children created a prayer garden as the liturgy unfolded, with each grade contributing a symbol of peace to the garden.

We had an exciting event on Friday afternoon… our very first badge from the individual reward system was awarded! One of our Year 6 students received her Faith in Action badge. It was a special moment to celebrate as a community, especially as it marks the first badge given after 12 months. We’re looking forward to handing out many more!

What a wonderful day for a carnival! The sun was shining, and the spirit was high as our students ran, cheered for their colour house, and participated with enthusiasm and great sportsmanship.
